This week I chose this article for my media project because of how sad and important this story is. The united states is different than many other nations in the world in many ways. Just to name a few ways in which this is true;
1. We have such high levels of police brutality.
2. Our gun laws are incredibly relaxed and almost non existent.
3. Police background checks and training are not always as extensive as they should be.
The united states is known for its mass shootings and police brutality all over the world. Every time I go to the UK to visit my family so many people ask me, The American, about these two subjects. Why is it that men who choose to go into the police force are not required to have extensive field training and mental health evaluations? Why are guns so easy to gain access too? Why do our politicians not listen when we ask for reforms. Not bans but reforms. The fault continues to be placed on the minority groups who are experiencing the repercussions of this. When will change happen?
